- Is PatchManager dependent on any particular network equipment vendor?
No, network cabling and assets from any equipment vendor can be equally easily administered in PatchManager.
- How is the PatchManager software deployed?
PatchManager is a client-server application with client access via a browser. Customers can install the server on their premises or can make use of our Software-as-a-Service offering whereby the server is hosted externally on our secure cloud servers.
- If I install PatchManager in-house, what operating systems does PatchManager support?
PatchManager is a 100% Java application that supports Windows and Linux operating systems. Virtualized environments are supported as are 32-bit and 64-bit operating system flavors.
- I am planning to replace my current cabling administration database/spreadsheet. How do I migrate this information into PatchManager?
PatchManager has a powerful import function to import CSV (Excel) based files.
- For the database backend, which Database Management Systems (DBMS) does PatchManager support?
The following Database Management Systems are supported: Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL. Other Database Management Systems systems not on this list can also be supported upon request.
- Can I easily integrate PatchManager with my other databases/systems/devices?
Yes, PatchManager has a powerful standard Web Services API (SOAP/WSDL) for third party system integration.
